Publishing to InVision

After creating your prototype in Studio, you can publish that prototype to InVision where you can preview interactions and animations, leave comments, and inspect elements.

Publishing a new prototype

To publish a new Studio prototype to InVision:

  1. Near the top right of the Studio toolbar, click the publishing icon (studio-publish-icon__1_.png).
  2. In the preview window that opens, click the preview settings icon (studio-preview-settings-icon.png). Check the box Override artboard settings to choose your own Preset, Viewport size, or Frame. You can also change the color of the preview background by clicking the small color box to the right of Override artboard settings.
  3. To the left of the preview settings icon, click the drop-down to select the appropriate scaling (Fit, Fill, or 100%).
  4. Once you're finished tweaking those settings, click the publishing icon (studio-publish-icon.png) again.
  5. Type a name for the prototype, and click the New button.
  6. Click Publish.

To view the prototype in InVision, click Copy Link.

Updating a previously published prototype

Before updating a Studio prototype that was previously published to InVision, here are a few things to note:

  • Once a prototype has been published to InVision, you cannot revert to a previously published version. If you're concerned about overwriting a previous version, we recommend creating a new prototype instead.
  • Only the original publisher can publish updates from Studio to the prototype on InVision.
  • If you access a published Studio prototype via a Team link, you will see that prototype added to your Projects page as a recent prototype; however, you still will not be able to publish updates to that prototype from within Studio.

To update or replace a Studio prototype that you have previously published to InVision:

  1. Near the top right of the Studio toolbar, click the publishing icon (studio-publish-icon__1_.png).
If you need to tweak any settings, check out steps 2 and 3 in the "Publishing a new prototype" section.
  2. Click Select existing, and then choose a prototype from the list.
  3. Click Update.

To view the prototype in InVision, click Copy Link.
