With InVision for Jira Server and Data Center, you can preview, comment on, and inspect prototypes—all without ever leaving Jira. InVision for Jira works for all major versions of Jira that Atlassian supports.
Installing the app
To install the app in your instance of Jira:
- At the top right of your Jira homepage, click your profile icon, and then click Atlassian Marketplace.
- Search for the InVision for Jira app, and click Install.
- Click Accept & Install.
Configuring the app
To configure which projects will use the InVision app:
- At the top right of your Jira homepage, click your profile icon, and then click Atlassian Marketplace.
- In the left-hand navigation, click Manage apps.
- Expand the InVision for Jira app and click Configure.
- Check the box Limit to Projects, and then select the projects where you want to use InVision.
- Click Save.

Allowlisting in InVision Cloud V6 (Enterprise only)
If you're using InVision Cloud V6 and you're an Enterprise or Private Cloud user, it's important that you allowlist your Jira Server or Data Center instance in InVision Cloud V6.
To allowlist Jira Server or Data Center:
- Sign in to your InVision Cloud V6 Enterprise account and navigate to the People page.
- Next to the Teams tab, click ••• (more), and then click Manage Allowlist Domains.
- Enter the domain for your Jira Server or Data Center instance, and click Add.
Attaching a prototype
To attach a prototype to a Jira issue:
- Open your prototype in InVision Cloud and create a share URL.
- Navigate to your Jira issue and, under the InVision section, enter the share URL.
- Click Attach prototype.
An interactive preview of your prototype will appear.

Interacting with a prototype
After you attach a prototype, a thumbnail image will appear. Any time you make changes to the prototype in InVision, the changes will appear in Jira.
To preview all screens in the prototype, click the thumbnail image. Alternately, navigate to the top right of the image and click the expand button (). If you want to comment on or inspect the prototype, you will need to be signed in to your InVision account. The sign-in modal will appear as a separate pop-up window, so please ensure that pop-ups are allowed. To preview without commenting or inspecting capabilities, click Continue as guest.

To close the prototype, navigate to the top right and click the X button.

Removing a prototype
To remove a prototype from your Jira issue, navigate to the top right of the prototype thumbnail, and click the disconnect button ().

Known limitations
There are currently a few known limitations for the InVision for Jira Server and Data Center apps:
- The app requires internet access to reach InVision servers.
- For optimum performance, Jira Server and Data Center should have SSL configured.
