How do I make a comment private?

With private comments and notes, you can create comments that are only viewable by you and your collaborators (users with an InVision account that you added to your prototype via the + button).

Creating a new private comment or note

To create a private comment or note:

  1. Open your prototype and navigate to the desired screen.
  2. At the bottom of the page, click the comment mode icon (comment-mode-icon.png).
  3. To create a new comment, click anywhere on the screen.
  4. At the top of the comment modal, click the Leave a Comment dropdown.
  5. Click either Private Comment or Note.
  6. Type your comment and click Send.

If you send a share link to an external reviewer, they won’t be able to see private comments or notes. 

Note: For Enterprise accounts, you can decide if users with a reviewer role should have access to private comments and notes. To learn more, check out this article: Enterprise roles and permissions

Changing an existing comment

To change an existing comment to a private comment or note:

  1. Open your prototype and navigate to the desired screen.
  2. At the bottom of the page, click the comment mode icon (comment-mode-icon.png).
  3. Click the desired comment to open it.
  4. At the top right of the comment modal, click the ••• (more) icon.
  5. Click either Private Comment or Note.
