Why isn't the audio working during LiveShare?

Note: The LiveShare PS plugin is no longer available for new downloads, but you can still use LiveShare within InVision. To learn more about this change and alternatives available, check out our recent announcement.

If your audio is not working when using LiveShare, it's generally because you haven't given InVision permission to access your microphone in your browser.

You can check that by following the directions below for your browser.

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the top right, click the Chrome hamburger menu icon
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Show advanced settings
  5. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings
  6. In the "Microphone" section, select Ask when a site requires access to your camera and microphone so that Chrome will prompt you when it needs microphone access

After that, try LiveShare again and see if a popup appears at the top of the page requesting you to give permission to InVision to access the microphone as shown below:

If you don't see that popup appear, you may have already denied that request. In that case, you need to undo that. To do so:

  1. In the top right, click the Chrome hamburger menu icon
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Show advanced settings
  4. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings
  5. In the "Microphone" section, click Manage exceptions
  6. Locate https://projects.invisionapp.com:443 and change "Behavior" to "Allow"
