This article provides answers for InVision V6. If you’re on V7 of InVision, read this article instead: How can I export my InVision V7 prototype?. Not sure which version you're using? Find out now.

With InVision, you can download a prototype as a PDF or ZIP file. To complete this action, you must at least be a collaborator or team member. If on an Enterprise plan, you must have a role of contributor or higher.

Currently, it's not possible to download Studio prototypes from InVision V6. However, you can export layers or entire artboards from the Studio desktop app. To learn more, check out this article: How do I export images directly from Studio?

To download a prototype:

  1. Sign in to your account and navigate to the Projects page.
  2. Open the prototype you want to export.
  3. In the menu bar directly above the prototype screens, click the ••• (more) icon.
  4. Click Download Prototype.
  5. Choose the export format:
    • ZIP: Download a ZIP of your prototype to run on your own server. The following settings are available for ZIP exports:
      • Prevent hotspot hinting
      • Prevent access to all screens in the prototype using the navigation arrows
      • Remove "Made in InVision" branding from the exported prototype
    • PDF: Download a PDF of all of the screens in your prototype as separate pages. The following settings are available for PDF exports:
      • Portrait or Landscape orientation
      • Include conversations in the PDF (and which type/status)
      • Add password to PDF
  6. Click the Generate button.

A new browser tab will open, letting you know that the file is being generated. Depending on the file size, it may take a few moments. Once the file is ready, click the Download button.

Hotspots will not appear in downloaded PDF files.

You will also receive an email notification when the download is complete. Clicking the download link in the email will download the file directly to your computer. If you click the download link in your email, but you are not signed in to InVision in your browser, you will be prompted to sign in before the download begins.
