Switching from InVision Sync to Craft Sync

Syncing with Craft allows you to utilize the power of Inspect, enjoy different ways to collaborate, and sync in a fraction of the time. InVision Sync and Craft Sync process your source files differently, and migrating from InVision Sync to Craft Sync requires a few simple steps to make the switch.

First, stop syncing with InVision Sync and save your source files in a different folder.

  1. From your computer menu bar, click the InVision icon and choose Open InVision Sync Folder.
  2. Comb through each folder and move any files you’d like to keep into a local or remote directory.
We recommend making two copies of these files in case of data loss, as your source files are not recoverable by InVision.

Then, disconnect and uninstall InVision Sync.

  1. From your computer menu bar, click the in icon and choose Quit InVision Sync.
  2. Drag the application from your Applications folder into the trash, and empty your trash.

Finally, set up Craft Sync:

  1. Download and install Craft.
  2. Set up Craft Sync and change the density setting to 1x, if you’ve been exporting in InVision Sync at 1x. Craft Sync’s export density is 2x by default.

Craft Sync uses your artboards to sync updates quickly and does not sync your entire source file to a prototype.

Hotspot size differences

After switching to Craft Sync, you may notice a difference in the size of your hotspots. This happens because InVision Sync defaults to an export density of 1x, whereas Craft Sync exports at 2x by default.

To change the export density in Craft Sync:

  1. In the macOS menu bar, click the Craft Manager icon (craft-manager-icon.png).
  2. Click the settings icon (craft-settings-icon.png), and then click Preferences.
  3. Click the Sync tab.
  4. Under Exported pixel density, choose 1x or 2x.

Photoshop settings

In Photoshop, select your export pixel density (1x or 2x) from the main Craft Sync window. If you select 2x for a 500x500 artboard (for example), that artboard will be exported and uploaded at twice the size (1000x1000), but the artboard will still be displayed in your prototype at 500x500. Alternatively, you can export at 1x.
