If you find yourself creating the same sets of documents again and again–perhaps for a client, or new hire onboarding–duplicate a space to save time.

What is duplicated

The following document types are duplicated:

  • Freehands
  • Prototypes
  • External links

Documents with the following share settings are duplicated:

  • Anyone with the link
  • Member only
  • Invite only

Permissions of duplicated content

All duplicated content inherits the default share setting for your team. All members of the group that contains the duplicated space will be able to see the duplicated content.

Invite-only documents are duplicated

Private, invite-only documents are duplicated. The duplicated documents inherit the default share setting and may no longer be invite only.

Whoever duplicates the space becomes the owner of all the duplicated content.

Duplicate a space

You can duplicate a space from the group it's within, or from the Spaces screen.

Duplicate a space within a group

You can duplicate a space from within its group.

  1. Navigate to the group that contains your space.
  2. Locate the space you wish to duplicate.
  3. On the space tile, select ••• More > Duplicate space.
  4. If desired, edit the name of the space and update which group it's in.
    Remember, if you change which group the duplicated space is in, all members of the group will be able to access everything in the duplicated space.
  5. Select Duplicate.

It may take a few moments for your space to duplicate. Once it's finished, you'll receive a notification in the inbox, as well as via Slack (if you've installed the InVision app for Slack).

Duplicate a space from Spaces

You can dupicate a space from the Spaces screen.

  1. In the sidebar, select Spaces.
  2. Search for the space you wish to duplicate.
  3. In the space's row, select ••• More > Duplicate space.
    Ensure you're selecting a space, not a group. If the More menu doesn't include the duplicate option, select the arrow at the far left of the row to expand the group.
  4. If desired, edit the name of the space and update which group it's in.
    Remember, if you change which group the duplicated space is in, all members of the group will be able to access everything in the duplicated space.
  5. Select Duplicate.

It may take a few moments for your space to duplicate. Once it's finished, you'll receive a notification in the inbox, as well as via Slack (if you've installed the InVision app for Slack).
